This is more of a Question for Monoprice but Yes I believe you can purchase extra remotes. BTW you can also teach a Direct TV and Dish Network remotes to run this item. If you are going to use the key pads you are going to need cat 5/6 wire run out to where the volume control knobs are. I was lucky that my house had the correct wires already run and the system really works great. I have two monoprice 6 zone home audio controllers to have a total of 10 zones for my house. I have six zones on my main level and 4 zones in my basement. My two controllers are setup in my network rack in the basement. If your pre-wiring includes the CAT5 cable at the same spots where you have the volume control knobs, then it's an easy transition.
